How do I arrange a tour of the Tokeland Hotel? Can I just stop in?

You are always welcome to explore downstairs during normal business hours however; the upstairs rooms are limited to guests. If you would like to see a room before reserving one, someone at the front desk can show you around.


What time is check in and check out?

Check in is at 4:00 pm and check out is 11:00 am.


Can we come in earlier than the 4:00 pm check-in time?
If your room is ready we may be able to adjust our standard check in time with advance notice.


Can I check out late?

Yes, you may check out 1 hour later for $25.00.


What is your pet policy?

We are a pet friendly hotel as long as your pet is friendly! We do charge a non-refundable $30.00 pet fee for fur-balls and muddy paws. Let us know if you need extra towels for your pet as we would prefer to keep room towels for human hands. We ask that pets not sleep on our beds but ask about our rooms with pet cubbies. We have a two dog max, no barkers, and no aggressive dogs. Should you chose to bring a pet into a non-pet-friendly room, we will assess a $200 cleaning fee. Owners are responsible for dogs behavior and poops. Poop bags provided. 


When is your restaurant open?

The restaurant is currently open Monday-Sunday (seven days a week) 8am-8pm. We also offer private breakfasts, luncheons and dinners on request. *An automatic gratuity of 20% is added for parties of 6 or more.


Do you have any gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options?

Yes, we have select dishes that can be made to accommodate these diets.


What is the quality of drinking water at the Hotel?
The Tokeland Hotel is famous for its artesian spring water.

Cancellation Policy

For single rooms guests may cancel their reservation free of charge until 7 days before arrival. All guests will be charged for one night at the rate they booked, plus tax, if they cancel under 7 days before arrival. 

For large parties and buy outs 100% refund made at least 21 days in advance.

Your credit card is on file as guarantee. In the event you change your plan, you must cancel or change your hotel reservation in accordance with the hotel's cancellation policy to avoid penalties. 


Smoking Policy

Smoking of any kind (cigarettes, vaping, marijuana) is prohibited in all rooms and public areas of the hotel. Smoking is allowed in designated outdoor smoking areas of the property with proper removal of butts. Should you chose to smoke in your room, we will assess a $200 cleaning fee.


Damage Policy

We pride ourselves on our 100% organic cotton sheets, hand embroidered quilts and shams, floral Kantha throws, furs, Mexican Otomi embroidered pillows, and Public Goods body products, and the like and hope you enjoy them during your stay. Should you choose to damage or take with you any items from your room a commensurate amount will be charged to your account. We realize accidents do happen and appreciate you letting us know of certain stains that need to be taken care of promptly. A $200.00 damage hold will be placed on your card until after check out.

Tokeland Hotel monogramed robes are available for purchase at the front desk for 95~.

Do you have wireless internet? Will my cell phone work out there?

We have WIFI that covers the entire property. The password will be given to you upon arrival. Cell coverage will depend on your service provider, but it seems as if Verizon works well.


Do you have television?

We have no cable tv, televisions, or DVD players. We do have a roaring fireplace and numerous reading literature, board and card games.

Do the rooms have private bathrooms?

The Tokeland Hotel was built as a private residence over 140 years ago and transitioned into a boarding house for weary travelers shortly thereafter. It was remarkable at that time to even have indoor plumbing and a standard to have a few shared bathrooms amongst guests. Today the Tokeland Hotel's bones stay largely intact and so too does the layout. There are 4 bathrooms on the second floor to be shared by guests. 2 with standing showers and 2 with claw-foot bath tubs. There are plans to add some en-suite bathrooms in the future. How long does it take to get to the hotel from Portland or Seattle? Astoria or Olympia?

The hotel is approximately 2 ½ hours from Seattle, 2 ½ hours from Portland, 1 ½ hours from Olympia, 1 ½ hours from Astoria. We love the drive from Seattle and Olympia that brings you through Raymond.


What kind of wildlife is around Tokeland?

We have seen porcupines, mountain lions, bears, Roosevelt elk, deer, cows, horses and hundreds of native and rare birds. There is also ‘Iona the Pig’ and ‘Buttons the lama’ living here in Tokeland as well as our official hotel greeter dog Augustus “Gus” (Gus the Bus), Biscuit the rabbit, and our own (pet) pigs Fanny, Fern and Francis (they eat our compost for us).


What kind of sea life is around Tokeland?

Gray whales, humpback whales, harbor seals, sea lions, orcas, porpoise, starfish, sea anemone, crabs; you name it, we have probably seen it here.


Is the hotel on the beach?

The Tokeland Hotel is on a peninsula with the Pacific Ocean to our west and the Willapa Bay to our south and east. There are numerous beaches to explore very close by.


Can you go crabbing in Tokeland? Do you have crab pots to use?

Yes, you can throw your crab pots off of the pier down the street by Nelson’s Crab. All areas for fishing, crabbing and clamming require a fishing license found here. We do have a few crab pots for guests to use if you don’t have one yet.


 When are the razor clam digs?

What is there to do in Tokeland?

The question is what isn’t there to do in Tokeland? Biking, hiking, fishing, crabbing, surfing, kayaking, beach combing, swimming, bird watching, kiting, playing board games, reading, eating, drinking, and relaxing…we have it all!


Do you take credit cards? Cash?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards and US dollars.


Is the Tokeland Hotel open year-round?

Yes! We take reservations for rooms 7 days a week.

Getting together with friends and family is fabulous no matter what the weather. Some of the best memories at the hotel are when it’s storming outside and everyone is hanging around the fireplace.


Can I rent the entire hotel out for an event?

Yes! We rent out the hotel for large parties, reunions, weddings, corporate events, paranormal investigations, and retreats of all kinds. You name it, we can do it. As a wedding venue, the hotel is quite popular because we offer a completely private hotel experience.


Do you have a fire pit for our use?
Yes. We have one large fire pit with wood available free of charge. We also have Smore kits available with house made marshmallows and chocolate from Seattle Chocolate Company.


What kind of events do you have at the Hotel?

We have events such as our famous Wood Fest & Pig Roast, Clam Jam, Oysterfest, Octoberfest, Thanksgiving dinner, New Years Eve Dinner, Tokefest, Valentine’s Dinner, Crawfish Festival, Pies & Pipes Burns Festival, St. Patty’s Day festival, Halloween Masquerade Party and many more!
