WHAT TO EXPECT
The property you know as Tokeland Hotel was a farmhouse built by Lizzie and William Kindred for their family in 1885. It wasn’t until 1899 that they opened it to travelers as the Kindred Inn. The hotel retains the original floorpan of the Kindred Inn, over 125 years later. There are quirks that come with our history, the halls and walls carry sound more freely, the bathrooms are all shared, and the wind causes the boards to creak in the winter.
More than what is missing is what you’ll find when you step into Tokeland Hotel: 100% organic Brooklinen sheets, hand-embroidered quilts, artesian spring water, Public Goods bath products, and freshly brewed coffee delivered upstairs before 8am.
