Summer opens with something spectacular.
On Sunday, June 7, The Wandering Goose hosts an intimate guest chef pop-up dinner with Taichi Kitamura of Sushi Kappo Tamura, one of the Pacific Northwest's most respected Japanese restaurants.
About the Chef
Born and raised in Kyoto, Tamura moved to Seattle at 16 and spent years workmen in the city’s too Japanese restaurants before opening Chiso in 2001. He now owns Sushi Kappa Tamura on Seattle’s Eastlake. A three-time James Beard Award nominee and Beat Bobby Flay winner, he sources hyper-locally, tends a rooftop garden with Seattle Urban Farm Company, and builds lasting relationships with regional producers. When he’s not int he kitchen, he’s likely on a river - Kitamura is an avid fly fisherman, and that same attentiveness to water and season shows up in everything he puts on the plate. His relationship to fish is the foundation of everything on the table.
The Menu
For this special evening, Kitamura will present a multi-course menu inspired by early summer on the coast, highlighting regional seafood and the wild ingredients of the Pacific Northwest.
