There are a million ways to enjoy your stay in Tokeland. Some of our guests want to check-in, unplug, wander the property and eat every meal with us - we get it - that’s what we do everyday! For those who need a little more action after check-in, we’ve listed a handful of our favorite activities. Bear in mind that some of these ideas are good year round, but that would make the list too long!

Design your own itinerary, just make sure it includes our famous fried chicken!

WINTER

Winter is a quiet time on the coast - but that doesn’t mean it’s boring! It’s the best time to experience a King Tide, and for everyone else, we have some great indoor ideas too.
Here are a few of our favorite activities:

  • Surfing

  • Storm watching

  • Razor clamming

  • Crabbing

  • Deep sea fishing

  • Northwest Carriage Museum

  • Westport South Beach Historical Society (Westport Maritime Museum, Grays Harbor Lighthouse, Whale Skeleton Display, Destruction Island Lens Hall)

  • Sitting in front of our fireplace and reading a book, playing a game or drinking a drink

SPRING

The rain may still be falling, but a trip to the coast in Spring brings a sense of renewal. Catch the seasonal northerly bird and whale migrations and hike around while the ground still thaws.
Here are a few of our favorite activities:

  • Surfing (best in March)

  • Whale watching

  • Bird migration along the Pacific Flyway

  • Deep sea fishing

  • Crabbing

  • Walk the marsh along the bay

  • Drive the Hidden Coast Scenic Byway

SUMMER

Without a doubt, the busiest time for a coastal vacation in the PNW! There are so many obvious reasons - the weather is beautiful, the sun stays up late, and you can enjoy the outdoors without packing rain boots. Here are a few of our favorite activities:

  • Borrow one of our complimentary beach cruisers

  • Light up the fire pit and roast some s’mores

  • Kite flying

  • Willapa Valley Lavender Farm

  • Manila clamming

  • Deep sea fishing

  • Crabbing

FALL

As the crowds taper off, the area starts to come to life. Bird migrations to warmer climates are underway and razor clamming season reopens. As Halloween approaches, book a room with one of our friendly ghosts. Oh - and don’t forget our world famous cranberry bogs! Here are a few of our favorite activities:

  • Spend the night in a haunted room, if you dare

  • Razor clamming

  • Crabbing

  • Deep sea fishing

  • Whale watching

  • Bird migration along the Pacific Flyway

  • Furford Picker Cranberry Museum
